first_imgFirefighters spent over two hours saving a family home after a fire broke out in Kiltoy, Letterkenny last night.Councillor Victor FisherFire officers were able to save the home, which belongs to a well-known local businessman and former town councillor Victor Fisher, but it was badly damaged after the intense blaze.Fire officers received a call from the owner of the home at 5.55pm yesterday evening that a fire had broken out at his house in Kiltoy. Nobody was hurt during the blaze.First appliance were on the scene at 6.05pm and the second appliance arrived shortly after.At that stage the fire had already penetrated the roof of the detached dormer bungalow.Members of the Fire Brigade then tackled the blaze with breathing apparatus and managed to bring the blaze under control.
